Michael Donovan is an artist using photo and video to tell stories of identity, often vacillating from the taboo to the most wholesome, with a deeply cinematic style. The work ranges from very social and intimate, to very lonely and introspective.
“I’m simply trying to make art for myself, the people in the images, our friends, and the audience.
We have good taste. We love a range of music, pop vs emerging culture, psychological thrillers, identity, erotica, poetry, romance, emotions, blue collar and working class people, physicality, pushing ourselves, characters, stories, nature, art, and our own innocence.
Not everyone gets all of my work. But, I guarantee, there is something for everyone if they have an open mind and a warm heart.”
